The television show Good Times portrayed Thelma Evans, the middle child of Florida, and James Evans, from 1974 until 1979.


Both in life and work

She received her education at the prestigious Juilliard School.  James Evans also appeared on additional episodes of several different television shows, such as “The Cosby Show” and “What’s Happening Now!!.” She and her former co-star Jimmie Walker contributed their voices to an advertisement for AT&T that was broadcast on the radio. The most recent public appearance of Stanis was in a commercial for Nationwide Insurance.


As a teenager, she competed in pageants for Miss Black America. As Miss Brooklyn, she eventually achieved the position of first runner-up in the Miss New York State competition. While she was still in college, she tried out for the role of Thelma Evans on the CBS comedy series Good Times.

Won the part and made her debut on television with the series when it first aired in 1974.
In the late 1990s, she made an appearance alongside her former co-star from Good Times, Jimmie Walker, in a hip-hop music video for Camp Lo.

Developed several players , one of which was titled Whatever Happened to Black Love.

Her character dealt with various challenges, including teenage sex, young pregnancy, and underage drinking. Other common issues that teenagers face, and she handled each one with grace and dignity.
